Eni. Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Government of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau

The Government of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau and Eni start collaboration in the sectors of exploration, Natural Climate Solutions, agriculture, sustainability and health

The Government of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau and Eni have signed a memorandum of understanding to explore potential areas of collaboration in the fields of exploration, Natural Climate Solutions, agriculture, sustainability and health.

This memorandum aims to evaluate the initiatives to be implemented to promote sustainable growth in the environmental field and support the development of local communities. In particular, initiatives for forest protection and sustainable land management, as well as for agriculture and development of agri-feedstock from agricultural residues will be examined.

Among the areas of collaboration is also the assessment of the exploration potential of the country's offshore area.

As far as health is concerned, the Government of Guinea-Bissau and Eni have already identified a joint initiative to strengthen the emergency and intensive care services; a first batch of essential medical equipment has been delivered to the Ministry of Health. Furthermore, Eni Foundation - the arm of Eni dedicated to health initiatives - is conducting a feasibility study to support the actions of the Ministry of Health aimed at improving maternal and child health in the country.

The MoI is aligned with the Government of Guinea-Bissau's priority to invest in health, education, infrastructure and agriculture, as well as with Eni's commitment to a just transition in African countries.
