Eni: satisfaction with the closure of the so-called "misdirection" procedure

Eni notes with satisfaction the archiving decree issued by the Public Prosecutor of Milan against Eni SpA in relation to the criminal proceedings of the so-called "misdirection".

Eni points out that in the decree the Public Prosecutor specifies that the alleged crime charged against the Company on the basis of Legislative Decree 231/2001, i.e. the inducement to make false statements by Vincenzo Armanna in the context of the Opl245 criminal proceeding, was based solely on the statements issued by subjects without the independence requirement (specifically Piero Amara, Vincenzo Armanna and Giuseppe Calafiore) and which have not found any confirmation in the context of the investigative activity.

Eni has also learned from the decree that, in the light of what has been illustrated, the Public Prosecutor's Office has exercised the criminal action against Amara, Armanna and Calafiore, deeming their narration libelous against the Chief Executive Officer of Eni, Claudio Descalzi, and by the Human Capital & Procurement Coordination Director of the Company, Claudio Granata.
