Libyan Coast Guard: "There will be an exodus in the Mediterranean"

"With a full return of NGO activities in the Mediterranean there will be an exodus of migrants to Italy"

The spokesman of the Libyan coast guard, the admiral, declares this at the AGI Ayoub #Qassem.

"The Italian government must not allow people rescued by these ships to land because otherwise the culture of emigration to Europe will spread again, with obvious repercussions on both Libya and Italy. "

The admiral of Libyan coastguard also denounces the continuous interference of NGOs in rescue operations.

"We cannot continue to make speed races with NGO boats. When the rescue coordination center receives confirmation of our intervention, it must not allow others to take action. We do not want to clash with the NGOs ", continues Qassem. "NGOs favor human traffickers. And we suspect that they get direct rewards, in addition to indirect rewards, for every person they bring to Europe. Every intervention they do is to encourage immigration into Libya from Sub-Saharan Africa and to have greater political weight in Europe. Added to this is the material aspect: not only do they increase the collection of funds in their favor but we do not exclude that they have funding directly linked to the traffickers of being human".
