Extradited from Romania Marius Adrian Martin, sixth member of the gang who kidnapped the Martelli couple in Lanciano

Marius Adrian MARTIN, a Romanian 34enne, is now returning to Italy, escorted by SCIP personnel - the International Police Cooperation Service of the Public Security Department.

The fugitive, author along with other 5 countrymen of the assault on the villa of the Martelli couple in Lanciano last 23 September, was tracked down and arrested in Craiova in Romania about a month ago. The investigations carried out immediately by the Lanciano Public Security Bureau, by the Mobile Squad of the Chieti Police Headquarters and by the local Compagnia Carabinieri, with the help of the SCO - Central Operational Service, have been coordinated internationally by the Management SCIP Central Criminal Police, which, through the Interpol and SIRe.NE Divisions (Supplementary Information Request at the National Entries), provided useful details and strategic support to the Romanian police to stop the fugitive and bring him to justice.

Upon the arrival of the Martin at Fiumicino, the formalities of the arrest on the national territory will be carried out at the Air Border Police Office, and will be immediately associated with the competent District House at the disposal of the Judicial Authority of Theatine.

The arrest in Romanian territory and the extradition of today confirm once again the validity of the synergy of the two structures of the Department of Public Security: the SCIP and its Security experts posted across the border for the interoperability with the foreign law enforcement and the SCO for strategic support for internal investigative activities.
