Extradition to Italy of Marzio Maria Mecozzi, arrested in Spain as part of the "Exodus" operation

Late yesterday evening Marzio Maria MECOZZI returned to Italy, escorted by staff of the SCIP - Service for International Police Cooperation of the Central Directorate of the Criminal Police.

The 43-year-old Roman, arrested as part of the "Exodus" operation, developed by the Economic - Financial Police Unit of the Rome Finance Police, was traced last December to Marbella (Spain), where he was in hiding and escaping Charge of criminal association aimed at the commission of various tax crimes.

The criminal association, of which Mecozzi was a part, was dedicated to gross tax fraud, money laundering, false and / or illegal billing and was dismantled by the Fiamme Gialle of the Organized Crime Investigation Group last November.

Surveys across the border were supported by the Criminalpol International Police Cooperation Service and allowed the Spanish counterparts to identify the correct location of the MECOZZI and to proceed with the Custody Ordinance in prison issued by the GIP of the Court of Rome.
