FCA: Comment on the Group's sales results in the European car market

In a European market that lost 8,1 percent compared to a year ago, in November Fiat Chrysler Automobiles registered over 68.700 cars for a share of 5,9 percent, stable compared to November 2017.
In the first eleven months of the year, FCA records almost 960.900 vehicles and the share is 6,6 percent.
Worthy of note is the sharply countertrend result obtained by Fiat Chrysler Automobiles in the United Kingdom, where sales of 16,5 per cent increased in November - in a market that overall loses 3 per cent - obtaining a share of 2,3 per cent, up 0,4 percentage points.
Another month of growth for Jeep that closes November with almost 13.800 registrations, an increase compared to last year of the 29,1 percent. The result is obtained in a negative European market and the percentage reached is 1,2 percent, up by 0,4 percentage points.
In the progressive annual Jeep registrations are over 156 thousand, well the 57,4 percent more than the same period of 2017: once again is the largest increase of the year among all manufacturers. The share of the brand is at 1,1 percent, up by 0,4 percentage points.
The brand achieves a particularly significant result when compared to the market reached in the segments in which Jeep is present. In November, against a market that grows by 2,5 percent, the brand increases the registrations of 29,1 percent. In the first eleven months of the year the market recorded a + 16 percent and Jeep even a + 57,4 percent.
The brand grows with significantly higher values ​​than the market average in Italy (+ 34,3 per cent in November and + 71,7 per cent in progressive annual), in Germany (respectively + 9,5 and + 29,9 per cent), in the United Kingdom (+ 34,6 percent in November). Once again Jeep gets a real exploit in Spain, where it grows by 87,5 percent in the month and by 100 percent in the progressive annual.
Renegade and Compass are driving the results of the brand: the first is firmly among the top ten in its segment and with more than 6.400 registrations in November it increases the sales of the 11 percent compared to the same month of the 2017. Compass registrations in November are more than 5.700
with a growth of 71,85 percent. Positive results also from Wrangler which in the month increased sales of 41,8 per cent (compared with November of a year ago) while in the annual growth rate is even 69,5 per cent.
In November, Alfa Romeo registrations in Europe are slightly less than 4 thousand, for a share of 0,3 per cent.
In the first eleven months of the year the Alfa Romeo registered in Europe are almost 78.900 and the share is at 0,5 per cent.
The results obtained by Alfa Romeo in the progressive annual in Spain, where in the first eleven months of the 2018 the brand increases the registrations of the 17,4 percent.
Among the models, the result of Stelvio should be reported, which, with more than 27.500 registrations in the annual progress, increases the sales of the 78,75 percent compared to the 2017.
The Fiat brand registered almost 45.900 cars in November, for a share of 4 per cent.
In the first eleven months of the 2018, Fiat registered 672.600 cars and the share is 4,6 percent.
For the brand, the excellent result obtained in the United Kingdom should be noted, where Fiat sales increased by 26,1 per cent in November.
The brand dominates the sales of the A segment, with Panda and 500 in first and second place among the best-selling cars in November and with positions reversed in the progressive year. In the month, together they have a share of 28,3 percent with Panda first - over 15.900 registrations growing 10,9 percent - and 500 immediately behind it with more than 12.600 registrations, up by 2,5 percent. In the first eleven months of the year the share of the two cars is 27,8 percent with 500 which (with almost 184.200 registrations) increases sales by 1,8 percent compared to the same period of the 2017.
Numerous Fiat models are protagonists in the rankings of the various segments. The 500X is firmly among the top ten in its category and in the annual progression - with 90.500 registrations - increases the sales of the 6,55 percent compared to the 2017. The 500L is both the month and year the third best-selling car in its class with a share of 16,8 percent in the first eleven months of the 2018. The 124 Spider confirms itself as one of the best-selling cars in the category in November and achieves an excellent sales result, increasing the 32,5 registrations per cent compared to a year ago.
Lancia / Chrysler matures in November almost 4.500 cars, up 13,8 percent compared to the same month as the 2017, with a share of 0,4 percent, up 0,1 percentage points.
In the first eleven months of the 2018 the brand registers a little less than 44.500 cars for a share of the 0,3
percent.
In Italy - the only nation where the brand is marketed - Lancia Ypsilon continues to be highly appreciated: in November it is the most sold in the B segment and overall increases sales compared to a year ago of the 14,05 percent.
The Maserati luxury brand has registered 576 cars in November and 7.581 in the first eleven months of the 2018.
