FCA: comment on the Group's sales results in the European car market

The market

Overall, FCA's registrations during the month are 80.200 - in a declining market - for a share at 7%, while it was 5,9% in January. Over 152.900 the registrations in the first two months of the 2019, and quota at 6,4%.

To highlight the results in Spain (sales + 9,3% in a market that marks -9,1%), of the Panda - which continues to dominate sales in segment A - of the Jeep range and the Lancia Ypsilon.

Just as it has been doing for several months, FCA continued to optimize sales in February, favoring private channels, fleets and long-term rentals.

Brand results

In February the Jeep brand registered nearly 16.300 cars, the 35,5% more than in the same month last year. The share is at 1,4%, up 0,4 percentage points. Slightly less than 28.700 the registrations in the first two months of the 2019, the 16,5% growth with 1,2% share, + 0,2 percentage points.

The brand achieves significantly better sales results than the market average in almost all the main countries: + 37,6% in Italy, + 15% in Germany, + 10,5% in the UK and even + 90% in Spain.

In February, sales of all Jeep models grew significantly: Wrangler + 170,2%, Cherokee + 121,8%, Compass + 33,4%, Grand Cherokee + 30,7%, Renegade + 27,2%.

Alfa Romeo in February it records over 4.300 cars, for a share of 0,4%. In the annual 9.200 progressive registrations and quota at 0,4%.

In Spain the brand closes the growing month of 23,2%.

I'm 53.300 le Fiat registered in February, for a share of 4,6%. In the first two months of the year the brand records almost 101.600 cars, equal to 4,3% of share.

Panda once again dominates the A-segment sales ranking: it is the most sold car in the month (almost 16.300 registrations, for a share of 17,1%) and in the annual progressive (34.400 registrations and quota at 17,1%). In February, sales increased compared to the same month last year by 21,2%, growth that rises to 21,6% in the annual progressive. The result obtained by the 500 is also positive, the second most sold car in the segment. Fiat, with the two models together, holds a share of 30,3% in the category.

spear in February it records over 5.800 cars, with a record growth of 38,4%. The brand share is 0,5%, + 0,1 percentage points. In the month, Ypsilon (the best-selling car in the B segment in Italy) increases the registrations of the 38,7%, a value that rises to 47,1% considering the first two months of the 2019.
