"Today the Tricolore Festival is celebrated. We do it with those who have our flag in their hearts, which they have seen waving in the unforgettable moments of victories in sport and in life and which they continue to recognize as the symbol of our being Italian." He states it Francesco Tagliente, President of the Roman Section of the Azzurri d'Italia Association, a fighter as a young man and still today, after a long career at the service of institutions up to the role of Prefect, tireless promoter of initiatives to protect national values.
"The journey of disseminating the principles on which our country is founded – recalls Tagliente – began in Florence 17 years ago and has involved, since then, hundreds of people who have shared my vision: inform, tell, disseminate, involve, participate . A simple and clear message that was welcomed by institutions, associations and individual citizens to whom I can only extend a huge thank you. Among these, many recipients of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic have offered a great contribution to this great project: these are decorated people who felt they had to return, with their civic commitment, the great honor granted to them by the Republic. Women and men who come from the world of sport, institutions, productive activities, culture and science, education and professions, all sharing the same desire to serve and deliver a more aware Italy to the new generations."
"That path – concluded President Tagliente – continues today with new traveling companions and even more incisive tools. A new national entity will soon be presented which will constitute a solid link between civil society and the institutions. An authoritative presence capable of playing a leading role in safeguarding the principles that built Italy and which will continue to shape our future."
