Fincantieri in full sail with a Viking vessel

Following the agreement signed last April between Fincantieri and Viking Ocean Cruises, contracts for the construction of the seventh and eighth units have become executive; at the same time, the company exercised the option for the ninth and tenth. The new ships will be twins of those already 'ordered, four of which have already been delivered and operated successfully by the company. These are units with a gross tonnage of about 47.800 tons, which host 930 passengers on 465 cabins, all with veranda, built according to the most recent navigation regulations and equipped with the most modern security systems, including the "Safe return to port". The first of the series, "Viking Star", made at the Marghera shipyard, took the sea in March 2015, the second, third and fourth, "Viking Sea", "Viking Sky", "Viking Sun" built by the shipyard of Ancona, were delivered respectively in March 2016, January 2017 and September 2017. The additional six twins, including those related to the option exercised, will be delivered in the 2018, 2019, 2021, two in the 2022 and 2023.
