The now historic union between the formula 1 andair Force in Monza. On Sunday 12 September, in fact, the 9 aircraft MB-339PAN of the main formation of the Frecce Tricolori will fly over the starting grid of the Italian Grand Prix and the tricolor of the National Aerobatic Team, spread over the last notes of the Mameli Anthem, will kick off the prestigious car race.

The overflight on the Monza Grand Prix now represents a traditional appointment for the Italian Air Force and an eagerly awaited appointment in the calendar of the Frecce Tricolori which on 18 and 19 September will celebrate at the Rivolto air base, the historic headquarters of the National Acrobatic Patrol, their 60th anniversary.

Speed, innovation, technology, engines and team spirit have always been common to the Flight Departments of the Italian Air Force and the Formula 1 stables. Since the establishment of the Arma Azzurra in 1923, in fact, men and women in blue have been operating on a daily basis. at the service of the country in the imprint of innovation and modernity.

Il 313 ° Acrobatic Training Group, this is the official name of the Frecce Tricolori, is a Flight Department of the Air Force which since 1 March 1961, the date of its establishment in Rivolto (UD), has the task of representing the capabilities of the entire Armed Force.

The mission assigned to the Frecce Tricolori is in fact to represent, in the eyes of Italy and the world, through their spectacular acrobatics, the founding values ​​of the Air Force: professionalism, team spirit, constant commitment and the search for improvement.

The Frecce Tricolori, heirs of a long and glorious acrobatic tradition of the past, are today a Department made up of about 100 soldiers, who have the grateful task of representing the more than 40.000 men and women of the Air Force with their work.

In these days the National Aerobatic Team, with the support of the entire Armed Force, is working to finalize the preparations for the celebration of the sixtieth anniversary of its constitution. The event for the sixty years of the Frecce Tricolori, scheduled for 18 and 19 September at the Rivolto Air Base, home to the 2 ° Stormo and the 313 ° Acrobatic Training Group, will take place scrupulously in line with the government guidelines for the containment of the Coronavirus infection in the country. Unlike similar events held in the past, in fact, this year access will be guaranteed to a considerably limited number of people in possession of Green Pass.

Despite the necessary restrictions, there will be two days of celebration in Rivolto, where, in addition to the Frecce Tricolori, the main European aerobatic teams will perform, as well as numerous air and ground assets of the Italian Air Force. The event, initially designed to celebrate the sixtieth acrobatic season of the Frecce Tricolori in 2020 and postponed due to the pandemic, also aims to be a sign of restart for the Armed Force and for the whole country.
