According to reports from the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, a strong earthquake of magnitude 4.6 was felt in particular in the province of Ragusa.
According to the Ingv, the shock, which would have been felt in various provinces of Sicily, lasted for about ten seconds. The earthquake was clearly felt in Ragusa, Syracuse, Catania but in many areas of Messina, Agrigento and Palermo, even in the Sicilian capital in the upper floors of some buildings.
So much fear among the citizens who immediately poured into the street, settling in the parking areas and squares far from the buildings.
The epicenter was located 15 kilometers from Acate, in the province of Ragusa, at a depth of 16 kilometers.
