The Board of Directors of Italian State Railways has appointed today the members of the new Board of Directors of Trenitalia.
The new BoD, which will be appointed by the next Trenitalia meeting, will be composed of Tiziano Onesti - reconfirmed as Chairman -, Orazio Iacono as Chief Executive Officer and General Manager, Paolo Colombo, Antonella D'Andrea - new director - and Maria Rosaria Maugeri.
The Trenitalia Board of Directors, in charge of 21 December 2015, has completed its mandate to reorganize the Company in line with the development prospects foreseen by the FS Group Industrial Plan for National and International Railways, Passenger and Freight.
The positive, economic and industrial results achieved in the past two years make Barbara Morgante's job in Trenitalia an accomplished process and constitute a model of success and determination.
In particular, among the activities completed, we include the spin-off of the Cargo Division - which gave birth to the Mercitalia Center on January 1, 2017 - and the fundamental corporate operations that have given a strong impetus to international growth, with the birth of Trenitalia UK and the acquisition of the c2c franchise.
Barbara Morgante will therefore take over the responsibility of the Central Management Department of Foreign Investments of the FS Italiane Group, set up with the objective of managing the development and enhancement of the Group's international activities, an action that can no longer be referred to in view of the important foreign growth envisaged in the Plan Industrial 2017-2026 of Italian FS.
Head of the Central Management for Foreign Investments, Barbara Morgante, thanks to her expertise in the field and the long experience gained through the presence in Borders of companies across borders, ensures the full integration of foreign companies with the values and modus operandi of Gruppo already in Europe today has six operating companies in five other countries other than Italy, two of which have only been acquired in recent weeks.
The new Board with the entry of Iacono, current Director of the Regional Passenger Division, as well as a member of the Board of Directors of Busitalia, and Antonella D'Andrea, FS Group Manager, confirms the intention of the FS Group Italian to focus more and more efforts for the development, rationalization and efficiency of integrated mobility in local public transport (iron and rubber) especially in metropolitan areas.
The first meeting of the new board of Trenitalia is scheduled to be held after the appointment by the Assembly in the coming days: Iacono, as Chief Executive Officer and General Manager, will have all the delegated powers. Iacono will leave the post of Director of the Trenitalia Regional Passenger Division covering 2014.
