In relation to the article signed by Filippo Bertolami which appeared in recent days on some websites and taken up by Amnesty International Italia and the newspaper il Secolo XIX in an article entitled "Bewilderment for the policemen promoted after the convictions at the G8 in Genoa" , the Department of Public Security specifies that the advancement of the officials in question is automatic and responds to an obligatory administrative procedure, where the sanctions that had been imposed have been served. All this could be avoided only by dismissing the officials, a choice that at the time was not taken by the Administration, nor did the Judicial Authority decide to impose a perpetual ban from public offices.

The current positions assigned fall within the qualifications held and the skills possessed.

Finally, bitter and disconcerting is the gratuitousness of the opinions expressed, especially by Amnesty International Italia, against the current head of the Department of Public Security and the State Police who not only made public amends for the poor management of public order of that tragic event, but above all, in recent years, it has been spent to stigmatize and sanction any behavior that does not comply with respect for people and even in these complicated moments it is spent so that the police forces fulfill their role of law enforcement officers with great humanity.
