The French press "Le Figaro" and "Le Monde" started writing yesterday on the unorthodox behavior of the French government towards Italy. Fortunately, the printed word is able to express clear evidence even to a child.

An institution that fails to impress a common foreign policy.
Nationalisms, difficult to break up in the old continent, prevail over the feeble possibility of having a foreign and perhaps common defense policy. If we were really united, there would be none. Just look at the GDP of Europe, the first in the world, not to mention Industry, Research and all that is needed to start talking about System Europe. If we were really united, we could really decide from superpower. The process of unification, the real one, but apparently nobody really wants it, in "first" the United States.
But back to the present day and to Italy, this is how France has hoarded over the years our companies, without anyone putting the "veto".
The French multimedia group Vivendi took the reins of Telecom Italia, passing through the French asset management giant Amundi, which bought the subsidiary Pioneer from the Unicredit bank; to end with the long list of Italian fashion and luxury brands passed under the French flag and of which the marriage between Essilor and Luxottica is also a symbol. The forerunner of all these acquisitions in the last decade, the newspaper recalls, were the French agro-food giant Lactalis, which swallowed the Italian dairy industry Parmalat; and the acquisition of the Italian electricity company Edison by the French state energy giant Edf, conducted while the other large French public energy group Engie (formerly Gdf Suez) took over several Italian municipal electricity companies.
The worst aspect, however, is the Italian political instability and an even worse political future. As already written in the article "The European elections seen overseas", we will not go towards a policy of protecting national interests and above all we will not reach out towards a strategic foreign policy. Not for inability but for the sole reason that we do not have time to look outside Italy, there are too many problems inside.
Our luck? We are very good at managing the "emergencies", but not always the fate will be on our side.
