According to the Human Rights Observatory, the balance of civilians who died in the last 900 days during the Syrian army offensive to "al Ghouta", a rebel controlled suburb located east of Damascus, has risen to about 18.

According to data reported by the Observatory, almost 40 per cent of civilians were killed by the end of February, after the approval of the UN Security Council 2401 resolution, establishing a truce of 30 days, and after the cease the five-hour fire proclaimed in al Ghouta by the Russian president, Vladimir Putin. During today's morning, new air bombardments were made near Arbin, Mesraba, Madyara, Hamouriyah, and Jisrayn, while the Syrian army advanced with Russian coordination, clashing with the militia of Jaish al Islam and Faylaq al Rahman .

Ingy Sedky, spokesman for the International Red Cross, announced that this morning, due to firefights, the sending of a new humanitarian convoy to al Ghouta was again revoked. He states that "the situation does not allow us to operate in such conditions". Yesterday, 7 March, the UN secretary general, Antonio Guterres, expressed his concern over the repeated attacks in the area of ​​al Ghouta, which prevented the delivery of humanitarian aid for 27 thousand people.

On the same day, the UN commission on war crimes published a report that would contain evidence of the use of chemical weapons to al Ghouta, as well as a UNICEF complaint against the dramatic conditions of the children of the area.
