Germany: Unemployment rate dropped to the 5,4% in October

Unemployment in Germany remains the lowest in German reunification, signaling a constantly improving labor market.

In October, the German unemployment rate fell to 5,4%, 11.000 fewer unemployed than in September, as the job market of Europe's largest economy benefited from an increase in hiring in the autumn period. According to the Federal Labor Office - the number of people registered as unemployed was 2.389 million last month - 60.000 fewer than in September and 151.000 fewer than last year.
