The "Festival" of the States General

(by Massimiliano D'Elia) The final document of the Colao plan will be presented to the States General on Monday 15. A plan that has shaken the ambitions of Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte who imagined that he had in hand the solution capable of calming the various souls of the majority. Instead, it was a plan that, due to its contents, brought out all the limits and contradictions of the political forces of government "forced" to stay together, for the most varied reasons that would become tedious to repeat again.

The States General are the only novelties that the Government has thought of making to ferry the executive, for many already agonizing.

We will be confronted with the largest number of actors coming from all the productive sectors of the country, but also from the social partners. The aim is to make a contribution, hopefully of substance, to the Italian Relaunch Plan, that plan to be proposed in Brussels to be able to aspire to the funds of the sumptuous financing plan that the European institutions have already made available, waiting to know the future of the Recovery Fund, available, however, during 2021.

There will be international guests from the President of the European Parliament David Sassoli to the President of the EU Commission Ursula von der Leyen, from Kristalina Georgieva, director of the IMF, to the secretary general of the OECD Angel Gurria. But they will also be present Renzo Piano e Massimiliano Fuksas, the Oscar winner Giuseppe Tornatore, and number one of Eataly Oscar Farinetti. Many surprise guests will reveal a formula that seems more like a Festival Cosa Sarà, a catwalk like the manifestation of the Lion of Venice or the night of the Oscar.

The intention of the government is to promote a ten-day close confrontation that will begin next Friday between political forces, trade associations, unions, personalities from the economic and cultural world. The planned scheme is behind closed doors with a "gran finale”, A solo press conference by Giuseppe Conte, directly from the gardens of Villa Pamphili, the place chosen for the event.

The invitation was sent, as scheduled, also to the oppositions. Silvio Berlusconi has decided not to participate for health security reasons, given his age. But the number two of Forza Italia Antonio Tajani at tg2 he said: "se we will go, we will take our requests: tax reform, health care reform, bureaucracy reform, procurement code reform and civil justice reform".

Salvini still waiting for the invitation: "If they invite me ... ". even if the invitation to the oppositions is public because it is foreseen on the first day of the assembly, Friday precisely.

The leaders of the center-right fear, indeed they are convinced of it, that the States General are only one way to get ahead and not face problems seriously: "Do ammuina, not to decide". The country's demands are discussed in Parliament, they repeat like a mantra. But the leader of the Senate of the Pd also agrees, Andrew Marcucci"Parliament is the place where laws are discussed and approved, in such a delicate phase, not Villa Pamphili".

So much so that the leader of the League has already organized his political Friday in Sicily. However during the television broadcast, "on Tuesday" he said: "as an educated person I will go, for charity, to present proposals ".

Giorgia Meloni, leader of Fratelli d'Italia is on the same wavelength: "I didn't get the invitation, I didn't understand what they are. If I have to go for a nice evening, I don't go to parliament. The general states in my house are made in Parliament, let's say no to the catwalks "

In the meantime, Salvini, Meloni and Tajani met to close the regional game and dissolve the knot Fitto (in Puglia) and Caldoro (in Campania), after the League's vetoes on the two.  They also decided not to participate in the States General because they argue that the only institutional place to make laws is Parliament.
