The danger for NATO and the world from the border between Poland and Ukraine

(by Andrea Pinto) Many NATO countries, including Italy, are sending weapons to Poland in support of the Ukrainian resistance. From information osint would be the stopover of Rzeszow Jasionka (100km from the Ukrainian border), the one used to send Western aid to Ukraine. The airport is located close to the E40 motorway which leads directly to Kiev. The American paratroopers of the 82nd division, sent to Europe by the president, have long been deployed at the airport Joe Biden before the war broke out. In recent days, the specialized press has noticed numerous British, Spanish, German but also Italian military cargo planes on the runway.

An activity, the one carried out by Westerners in Poland, which has aroused the interest of Russian intelligence which is trying to locate the corridor that supplies the Kiev troops with food and armaments. The suspicion of the Kremlin 007s is that Western weapons cross the Polish border, hidden by the continuous and massive flow of Ukrainian civilian refugees. It is no coincidence that the United States sent several patriot missile defense batteries to that area yesterday.

The risk that in these hours the spark that could set off a total conflict between NATO and Russia is therefore very high. This was reported to Adnkronos by qualified Western sources, who are closely monitoring the movements underway along the border crossings between Poland and Ukraine.

Corridors through which thousands of Ukrainian civilians fleeing the war travel to Poland, but which, according to Russian intelligence, could also be used to bring Western weapons and equipment to the Ukrainian army and fighters.

Sources fear that Moscow's secret services may detect these movements and act accordingly, launching targeted missile attacks along the border. If these missiles were to hit Polish territory, in addition to a possible massacre of civilians, the Warsaw reaction could be triggered, which would be entitled to ask for NATO intervention, based on Article 5 of the Treaty. But to trigger the spark could also be the downing of one of the western transport aircraft, considered hostile by the Russians for the type of cargo on board (weapons systems for the forces of Kiev). A reckless tactical eventuality because it would have to cross over into a NATO country putting a strain on the Alliance's air defense, thus anticipating the decree of a large-scale war. However, as history teaches us, in war the rules and ethics often give way to reckless and highly impacting actions to bring the conflict in one's favor.

Article 5 The parties agree that an armed attack against one or more of them in Europe or North America will be regarded as a direct attack against all the parties, and consequently agree that if such an attack occurs, each of them, in the exercise of the right of legitimate defense, individual or collective, recognized by the ARI. 51 of the Charter of the United Nations, will assist the party or parties thus attacked by immediately taking, individually and in concert with the other parties, the action it deems necessary, including the use of armed force, to restore and maintain security in the North Atlantic region. Any such armed attack and all measures taken as a result of it will be immediately brought to the attention of the Security Council. These measures will end when the Security Council has taken the necessary measures to restore and maintain international peace and security.
