Tension in Rome and Milan between the police forces and No Green Pass protesters

Scuffles and tensions with the police are underway during the No Green pass demonstration in Piazza del Popolo in Rome. The demonstrators then poured into the streets of the center, the police carried out charges to disperse them, using fire hydrants and tear gas.

Some demonstrators were stopped by officers. The headquarters of the CGIL are occupied. Parades and garrisons also in Milan.

A group of demonstrators entered the CGIL headquarters in Rome. "The CGIL is occupied" they say. Others shout "No green passes"Are moving through the streets of the center. Throwing firecrackers and paper bombs along the way. Many shout "freedom freedom".

The group managed to break down the doors of the office union and get inside before the police could stop the demonstrators and push them back. The procession is still 'besieging' the CGIL building which has a torn shutter, the doors open and the alarm that continues to sound non-stop. "We are waiting for Landini " shout from the megaphone, but also "hands off work " and "sold ". The CGIL, according to the no pass, is guilty of not defending the workers.

The police carried out some charges. Some demonstrators, headed towards from Villa Borghese, threw themselves against the agents trying to break through the police cordon. Two protesters claim to have been "hit by an armored car from the police, which intervened on the spot during the scuffles".

Hundreds of other protesters against the Green Pass are heading towards Palazzo Chigi. At the moment the procession is at the height of Piazza San Silvestro and is keeping at a distance from the police cordon. Several demonstrators have their faces covered and there are also exponents of Forza Nuova, with the tricolor flags. Some smoke bombs were launched on via del Tritone.

In Largo Chigi the police cordon which is committed to containing the protesters of the sit in No green pass has several tear gas canisters exploded to disperse the crowd and avoid further confrontations. The police then operated the fire hydrants from the tanks. The situation is still very tense. Protesters in response launched firecrackers and paper bombs.

There are about 10 thousand participants in the demonstration in Piazza del Popolo. Another protest against the green pass is underway in Piazza Bocca della Verità, also in the center of Rome, organized by Forza del Popolo.

"Reality has taken it upon itself to deny those who claim that fascism is only folklore or nostalgia. Today's demonstration in Rome, with evident and preordained direction, resulted in violence, occupations and threats against institutions, law enforcement agencies, citizenship. Once again, by dint of sowing the wind, the storm of violence and subversion is collected ”. This is what Enrico Borghi of the national secretariat of the PD declares.

There is no room in our country for the violent #NoGreenPass. What is happening in Rome right now is unacceptable. Law enforcement officers attacked, paper bombs thrown in the center. I hope that those responsible will be identified as soon as possible! ". The national coordinator of Forza Italia writes on Twitter, also posting a video of the riots that are taking place in Rome at the demonstration against the green pass.
For the twelfth consecutive Saturday since last July 24th, the Milanese 'no green pass' protesters have decided to gather in Piazza Fontana to protest against the government's restrictions on the unvaccinated. Some of the organizers, led by Gianluigi Paragone, leader of Italexit, who less than a week ago touched on the election with his party in the City Council in Milan, tried to convince the demonstrators to limit the protest to the square with a sit in . Proposal rejected by the bulk of the event that responded with the chorus 'parade, parade'. Shortly before 18pm, therefore, the bulk of the demonstrators evaded the barricade of the police and began their march by bypassing Piazza Duomo and heading towards Piazza Missori and Corso di Porta Romana, apparently without a precise destination. Among the banners at the head of the procession, one that reads "Science does not oblige: prove" and a sign that says "Immediate resignation of those who sold Italy and betrayed the Italian people".
