In Israel, for young people, the air force has been overtaken by the cyber world

In Israel, Arab-Israelis can also not enlist while the rest of the population has the obligation of conscription for 30 months. A relatively long period where all young people actively participate in what is believed to be the most important service for the nation. Over the years and battles, the military air force has played a fundamental role in the armed forces of Tel Aviv. For decades the aviation has occupied the scene as an armed force of excellence, equipped with the most modern and lethal means, today in addition to traditional fighters, it uses the best 5th generation aircraft in the world, the F-35 in the two versions A and B.

It is no coincidence that among the most famous Jewish slogans there is, in fact, the one dedicated to the air force: "The best in flight". By the best we refer to the best, to those who will have the honor of projecting, with their jets, all the firepower of Israel into the sky.

In the air force, as well as in the special forces, one sees, side by side, the farmer-soldiers of the kibbutzim, the religious Zionists and the children of the most aristocratic families of Tel Aviv.

Today, however, everything has changed and the Haaretz newspaper points out when it reports on the front page the dismayed expression of the Chief of Staff of the Israeli Defense Forces, Aviv Kochavi in the face of the new slogan that appeared on the streets: "The best in cyber". During a public ceremony Kochavi said the new slogan is "an error, a loss of values in part of the population. The best are those who are ready to sacrifice their lives for others ".

What is certain is that even if the Israeli armed forces constitute the backbone of the nation, the cyber unit 8200 is also gaining important slices of fame: it has gone down in history for having successfully organized cyber sabotage against the Iranian atomic program. The cyber unit has become extremely famous and appetizing among young people because after their leave it has produced many millionaires. Guys who, with the precious know-how acquired during the service, then founded innovative successful strat-ups.

Paradoxically, the Haarets newspaper points out, the cyber world in Israel is, today, the only one capable of attracting young people to enthusiastically dedicate 30 months to their nation.
