Following the arrests carried out in Catania, Anas announced that he had suspended the arrested technicians and blocked the payment of monthly fees.
In addition, Anas Security, with the support of a group of engineers from the General Management, in close contact with the Guardia di Finanza, is carrying out sweeping checks on the works under investigation using the technological equipment of the Cesano di Anas Research Center. in order to verify, also for the purposes of infrastructure safety, whether the quality and quantity of the required materials have been respected, as well as anything else required by the tender specifications.
Anas is also verifying whether the contracting companies involved in the investigations are engaged, or have been in the past, in other interventions throughout the national territory, which will also be subjected to checks, and in the face of the sophisticated criminal acts implemented by officials involved and by the companies, the Company is undertaking further and even more incisive internal control activities.
Anas continues to collaborate with investigators to offer any useful contribution to shed full light on the serious facts identified and strongly condemns any illegal behavior committed by its employees and will adopt rigorous and timely measures against unfaithful officials. The management of Anas, which is not involved in the corruption facts uncovered by the Public Prosecutor's Office and the GdF of Catania, has collaborated and actively collaborates with the investigators to ensure the Company's contribution to the anti-corruption action, which will be based on maximum rigor, not only with disciplinary dismissal proceedings but also with requests for compensation for all damages to the reputation of Anas and to the integrity of the road works.
