Indonesia, over 800 dead but the budget could grow again

According to the BNPB, the Indonesian national disaster management agency, the balance of those killed by the consequences of the earthquake and the subsequent tsunami that devastated the island of Sulawesi last Friday are at least832.

The earthquake, of magnitude 7.5, generated a tsunami with waves up to six meters high. The areas most affected are those of Palu and Donggala: in the first city the confirmed dead are 821, in the second 11. However, relief efforts still need to reach most of the Donggala areas, which means that the number of deaths could increase significantly. For now there are about 540 wounded and the evacuate fibulae are over 17mila.

Christos Stylianides, EU commissioner for humanitarian aid, considering the high number of victims and damages caused by the earthquake and tsunami, announced the allocation of 1,5 million for aid and emergencies. "We are acting urgently to send aid to those most affected in Indonesia, our thoughts go to the victims and rescue teams who are working tirelessly to save lives."

President Joko Widodo has announced the mobilization of the army to assist relief and to recover the bodies that in some images are noticed lying on the ground near the coast or partially cope
