Iran welcomed the agreement between the two Koreas on the denuclearization of the peninsula but also warned that the United States is not entitled to play any role since Washington "does not honor its commitments". 
The meeting between North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and South Korean President Moon jae-in represented, according to the Tehran Foreign Ministry "a responsible and effective step towards regional and global stability", but the new situation should be managed exclusively by two Koreas, without "the interference of foreign powers". The Iranian experience of the last forty years, particularly with regard to the nuclear treaty, is that the US government is not a trustworthy party and does not respect its international commitments ”, concludes the Ministry. The North Korean leader will have to meet US President Donald Trump in the coming weeks, who has repeatedly threatened to denounce the nuclear treaty signed with Iran in 2015.
