Iran, war near Europe

If the US ends the Iran nuclear deal or re-imposes sanctions on Tehran, Iran could develop nuclear weapons and raise the danger of war near Europe. This is the warning issued by the German Foreign Minister, Sigmar Gabriel, to the microphones of the radio Deutschlandfunk, after US President Donald Trump yesterday refused to formally certify that Tehran is complying with the 2015 agreement, despite international inspectors saying that is doing it. According to Gabriel, Trump has sent a "difficult and dangerous signal" at a time when the US administration is already handling the nuclear crisis with North Korea. "My great concern is that what is happening in Iran or with Iran from the perspective of the United States will not remain an Iranian issue, but many others around the world will consider procuring nuclear weapons as this type of agreement is destroyed, ”said Gabriel. And he continued: "At that point our children and grandchildren will grow up in a very dangerous world". Furthermore, according to the German foreign minister, if the United States ends the agreement or if it re-imposes sanctions on Iran, this would benefit the more radical Iranians, who are opposed to negotiating with the West. "Then they could go back to developing nuclear weapons", continues Gabriel, adding that Israel would not tolerate it and "we will go back to where we were 10, 12 years ago, with the danger of a war relatively close to Europe".
