A security official announced that a fire has devastated the largest deposit of ballot papers from last 12 May for the eastern sector of Baghdad, the largest Iraqi constituency.
We still do not know what caused the fire. The fire comes right up but as Iraq prepares for the hand-counting of about 10 million votes, ordered by parliament, following allegations of fraud during the legislative elections of 12 May, which saw a surprise victory of the Shiite populist religious Moqtada Sadr.
News also confirmed by a spokesman for the Ministry of the Interior, Saad Maan who explained that the flames have hit one of the four warehouses used.
