Isis, a white widow killed by a drone

For years it has been one of the nightmares of investigators who followed the flow of foreign fighters to Syria. With its social media coverage in English, it had become one of the most important recruits in the Islamic State, especially young women. Now Sally Jones, 47, a former guitarist in a punk rock band converted to Islam, would be killed by a drone attack in Syria.

The death of the "White Widow", as it was nicknamed, was revealed by British sources to British newspapers but there are no official confirmations and overseas American investigators appear very cautious. Jones would be struck while fleeing from Raqqa to the border with Iraq: at the time of the attack with her there would also be JoJo's son, 12 years, who might be dead too.

Sally Jones, a native of Greenwich, converted to Islam after marrying Junaid Hussein and followed in her husband's footsteps in joining jihadism until she left her home in Kent in 2013 to join him with a child in Syria. Hussein was also reportedly killed in a raid in 2015, but this did not stop the widow from continuing to propaganda to Isis, attracting young people to Raqqa, writing threatening messages against "Christians" and planning terrorist attacks. . Famous are the photos she posted on the Net, especially the one in which, dressed as a nun, she pointed the gun at the heads of prisoners.
