Israeli police revealed today that 22 traffickers were arrested with a significant amount of drugs, explosives, weapons, money and ammunition. All the material was confiscated in East Jerusalem following an undercover operation that had lasted for six months.
During the operation, an officer went undercover in East Jerusalem and the West Bank and eventually bought 11 explosive devices, various firearms and ammunition. The plainclothes policeman has gathered evidence on the main suspects, some of whom are even members of Palestinian terrorist groups.
Among the suspects there are several Palestinians who served sentences in Israel for terrorist activities and a Palestinian police officer. Israeli police said the undercover agent established his reputation among the suspects and gained confidence before completing dozens of transactions with them.
