Israel-Hamas: The Americans also knew but no one believed the intelligence "signals".

American media such as CNN and NYT wrote that Biden had been warned weeks before the attack of a resurgence of tensions in the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. A September 28 report warned that the Hamas terrorist group was ready to intensify missile attacks along the border. Another October 5 document warned of the growing possibility of violence by militia groups linked to Hamas.

The day before the 007 attack, Americans circulated reports from Israel indicating unusual Hamas activity. None of the American assessments provided tactical details or indications on what was the operation conducted by Hamas on October 7, the sources specify. It is unclear how Israeli intelligence agencies and their American counterparts failed to uncover Hamas's macabre plan in time.

US intelligence, the American newspapers write, has not considered Hamas or the Gaza Strip a priority. The 007s focused more on China, Russia, Iran, North Korea, Al Qaeda and the Islamic State.

Documents of Hamas plans discovered

Yesterday Israeli troops arrested around 250 terrorists. Dozens of documents were found in their hideouts explaining how the October 7 attack had been planned for a long time. The objectives are described in great detail: killing of children, young people, elderly people and their kidnapping. In the months before the attack, Hamas militiamen mixed among the people of the Kibbutzim to study movements and meeting places on Saturday mornings, since it is a traditional holiday and schools are closed. Playgrounds and sports fields where the kids used to go on Saturdays were therefore identified, as were the residential areas to be targeted by violating homes.

The drama of the Palestinians inside Gaza

“In Gaza they are all human shields,” said German Foreign Minister Baerbock: “Within 24 hours, for their own safety and protection, the inhabitants of Gaza City and the northern part must evacuate to the south.”

After a few hours, the Israeli military effectively broke the border walls, penetrating into the Strip to free the area from potential terrorists and locate the hostages: The much-heralded ground offensive has begun. The operation Iron Sword Thus, its second phase begins: after the 4 thousand tons of bombs unloaded on the Strip to hit Hamas command posts, isolate its leaders, destroy tunnels and weapons depots, cut off escape routes to Egypt and cause collateral damage such as 1.799 deaths and 6.388 injuries.

To locate the hostages, a cyber unit studied satellite images, cross-referenced telephone data, spied on thermal variations, analyzed movements on the streets, activated informants: the hypothesis is that many kidnapped people are in very normal apartments, whose captors belong to the groups of Hamas, Jihad and Al Aqsa Brigades.

Normal Palestinians, around one million, are forced to flee towards the south of Gaza to avoid being victims of an announced massacre. This was Tel Aviv's ultimatum.

White House spokesman John Kirby notes the difficulty of moving a million people in a few hours: "—. “It's about moving a million people into a combat zone in a few hours.”

Secretary of State Antony Blinken, after consulting the UN and the Red Cross, asked Israel to create safety zones in the Strip for civilians, together with humanitarian corridors for a possible exit towards Egypt even if not everyone in Cairo is convinced of welcome the Palestinians, especially those linked to the Muslim Brotherhood fringe, notoriously close to Hamas.
