Israel intensifies psychological warfare, delivers 10000 decks of cards to soldiers

Editorial

The Israeli army, during the offensive south of Gaza, intensified the so-called operations psyops (psychological warfare). A few days ago the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) announced the death of Wissam Farhat, commander of the Shujaiya Battalion. Images of the faces of the Battalion officers were then disseminated as they sent messages of surrender. A second initiative involved the distribution, among Israeli soldiers, of a deck of cards depicting the leaders of Hamas. Ten thousand unique decks of cards would be distributed, each containing 52 images of the main Hamas leaders, including the leader, Yahya Sinwar, and the head of its military wing, Mohammed Deif.

The same technique was used in Iraq on behalf of the American military. This strategy aims to underline Tel Aviv's determination to destroy Hamas and its leaders spread across Gaza, Lebanon, Turkey and Qatar.

The deck includes profiles of executives such as Khaled Meshal (Ace of Hearts) and Ismail Haniyeh (Ace of Pentacles), the latter hosted in Doha, the center of the hostage negotiations. Rumors were circulating about the alleged guarantees given by the Netanyahu government to the Emir of Qatar regarding Haniyeh, who was excluded from the list of targets for reasons of expediency. However, the promises made in secret could be revoked, considering the new start of hostilities and Jerusalem's explicit declaration to neutralize the adversary at every level.

Lo Shin Bet, the Israeli internal security service, has publicly communicated its determination to eliminate Hamas members at all costs, even if it takes years, referring to the Israeli campaign against the Fedain after the massacre at the 1972 Olympic Games. statements provoked a reaction from Turkish President Erdogan, warning of serious consequences in the event of attacks on Palestinians on Turkish territory. Ankara claimed to have discovered Mossad-inspired cells involved in monitoring exiled Hamas members and providing financial support for the armed struggle.
