Israel: terrorist attacks two soldiers of Jerusalem

Two Israelis, an IDF officer and a soldier, were murdered and two others were injured by a Palestinian terrorist who rammed his car into them in the West Bank on Friday afternoon. The attack took place between Mevo Dotan and Hermesh on Route 585. The terrorist, 26, from the village of Barta'a, was wounded.

A team of Magen David Adom (MDA) provided an initial reconstruction on the scene before transporting the injured to a Petah Tikvah hospital. The terrorist was taken to a Hadera hospital.

The terrorist has been identified and is known by the Israeli security forces. He was released from prison less than a year after being convicted of terrorist offenses. Once identified by the security forces, he was interrogated and transported to Hillel Yaffe hospital.

Hamas welcomed the attack, stating: "The attack on Jenin comes 100 days after Trump's decision and makes it clear that our people's intifada for Jerusalem continues." Hamas further stated: "The protest against the decision and the occupation is not a wave of anger, but an ongoing issue until full freedom is achieved for our people."

"Before the Sabbath began, we were informed of a serious attack," Israeli Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman said following the attack. “We will act to sentence the terrorist to death, to demolish his house and to punish anyone involved. There is no loner terrorism. It is the terrorism supported by Abu Mazen [Mahmoud Abbas] and the Palestinian Authority, which pays money to the families of the terrorists “.
