The first innovative educational initiative organized by the Ministry of Education and the Italian Commissioner Expo Dubai 2020 as part of 'Expo Dubai 2020' kicked off this morning: the "School for #Cop 26", as part of the Climate Week and Biodiversity, in continuity with the themes of the 26th Conference of the Parties (Cop26).
The Minister of Education, Patrizio Bianchi, participated, with a video message, in the opening ceremony at the Italian Pavilion, thanking Paolo Glisenti, Italian Commissioner for Expo 2020 Dubai, Laura Faulkner, Commissioner for the United Kingdom (who holds the presidency for Cop26 ) and the Minister for Youth Policy of the United Arab Emirates, HE Shamma bint Suhail Faris Al Mazrui. The Minister also addressed his greetings to the students involved, with their schools, in the implementation of the activities: "The real challenge today - he said - is to have a global pact for education, which is at the basis of a sustainable economy ".
During the Climate & Biodiversity Week of Expo, 40 students of secondary schools from Italy, England and 15 other nationalities will participate in 'School Mode', a laboratory in which discussions between teams, simulated negotiations of international organizations and presented possible solutions to the problem of climate change proposed by children.
Italy and Italian schools will be protagonists with the Ministry of Education for another 8 weeks, until March 2022, of the events of Expo 2020 Dubai, presenting international workshops based on the use of innovative teaching methodologies.
