What do they write in Italy about Italy

Very interesting what the Chinese media write about Italy and the journey of their president in our country.

Italy is one of the first countries in the world to do sci-tech cooperation with China. In 1978, the two countries signed an agreement in Rome for the exchange of funds for researchers, knowledge and sci-Tech.

The core fields of the 40-year collaboration include space technology, environmental protection, basic science, and more.

Italy is where Galileo Galilei, the father of observational astronomy, was born. It is clear that Italians have the will and the power to explore the vast universe.

China and Italy have shared space technology for decades. The latest fruits of the cooperation are in orbit around the Earth and provide research data to both countries. The Wukong satellite, the key part of which was built with the help of Italy, is detecting unknown aspects in space.

The Chinese electromagnetic field monitor, Zhangheng-1, is equipped with two high-energy particle detectors. One was of national production, another imported from Italy.

In addition to the equipment, the space agencies of the two countries have also exchanged astronauts. Chinese astronaut Ye Guangfu had part of his training in Italy in June 2016, while his Italian counterpart Samantha Cristoforetti helped us on a rescue training mission in Yantai, China in August 2017.

When it comes to environmental protection, Italian companies have invested in many projects in China.

The Ministry of Ecology and Environment has set up a website to advertise information on the Sino-Italian Cooperation Program for Environmental Protection. There are so many projects that still need to be organized.

The field of cooperation includes clean energy, air quality monitoring, urban planning, recycling, sustainable agriculture and so on.

One obvious project is Italy-funded research to draw lessons from European environmental protection laws and apply them to China. This 2008 research helped China revise its Air Pollution Prevention and Control Act.

The latest plan for cooperation between the two countries was presented in May 2017, which will last until 2020. It contains cultural but also sci-tech projects.

Given that the plan will come to an end in less than two years, China wants to discuss future plans with Italy.

Chinese President Xi will visit Italy in the coming days. China is likely to further extend sci-tech cooperation with the European country.
