Khan points his finger at Theresa May and appeals for a new referendum

The judgment of Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London, on Theresa May, who launches a dramatic appeal for a second referendum on Brexit, points the finger at the London premier stating that Theresa May does not have "the mandate to gamble so clearly with the British economy and the life of the people ".

In an article published in the weekly Observer Khan writes that "there is so little time to negotiate with Brussels, there are only two possible results: a bad agreement for the United Kingdom or no agreement. And both, he warns, are "incredibly risky".

The London mayor then adds that the British citizens "did not vote to leave the EU and become poorer, see their companies suffer, have the NHS departments (the national health service, ed) short of staff ..., for this, he concludes, any agreement with Brussels will have to be subjected to a "public vote", just as citizens have the right to choose between a no-deal in case of non-agreement and "the option to remain in the EU".
