The State Police accompanies the 106th edition of the Giro d'Italia

The 106th Giro d'Italia starts today from Fossacesia in the province of Chieti and, like every year, the Traffic Police accompanies the cyclists for all the 3.489 km of the competition which will cross 17 regions and 41 provinces, with a brief encroachment into Switzerland, and will end in Rome on May 28th.

This year, 30 motorcyclists and 16 road policemen in cars will escort the Tour of professionals for the 21 stages that will cross our country.

Another 18 operators, including 10 motorcyclists and 8 car operators, will follow the athletes involved in the 20 stages of the E-bike Giro.

Another 16 units will take turns in the field from the Traffic Police to take care of relations with the Authorities of all the provinces that will be crossed by the two competitions, as well as with the mass media.

After the epidemiological emergency, the "Biciscuola" project has returned to being "in presence". The traffic police officers, accompanied by RCS representatives, will therefore meet the winning classes of the primary schools that took part in the competition in the arrival and departure stages, to share a moment of celebration and, at the same time, of training. Furthermore, a constant feature of the starting stages will be the Blue Pullman of the State Police, the multimedia classroom with which the road police officers promote the culture of responsible and aware driving among the younger generations.
