This morning two policemen of the Oristano Traffic Police, during the road surveillance service at km 118 of the State Road 292 in the Municipality of Riola Sardo (OR), noticed a woman who attempted suicide by throwing herself into the canal below the roadway.
The policemen, despite the strong thunderstorms in progress, immediately threw themselves into the canal, managing to rescue her and bring her to safety on the bank of the canal, thanks also to the help of the police officers from the Oristano police station who arrived on the spot.
The operators then contacted the 118 staff who arrived on site shortly afterwards and transported the same to the San Martino Hospital in Oristano where it was subsequently subjected to medical treatment with a yellow code.
