Precious: "Russia is losing its future"

The general Pasquale Preziosa, former head ofair Force and today president ofEurispes Safety Observatory spoke, this afternoon, a TGCOM24 on the crisis in Ukraine. The general analyzed the recent "dense" and "intense" Russian missile activity, specifying that the system of Patriot defense it worked (Ukrainians reportedly) against the dreaded Russian Khinzals (hypersonic missiles that traveled at mach 9). It is interesting that the missiles launched by Moscow were fired almost simultaneously from different and distant positions, stigmatized Preziosa, specifying that Russia thus attempted to saturate the Ukrainian defense systems. These types of Russian hypersonic missiles, analyzed the president of the Eurispes Security Observatory, no longer constitute a "game changer" for the West, if anything the killing is confirmed. The general then discussed China's position in the context of the present international crisis, also with reference to the peace proposal drawn up by Beijing.

Precisely on the position of China, in the nascent world order, we heard from General Preziosa for some insights.

China, argued Preziosa, has only one goal: to establish itself as a world power. Russia, on the other hand, is looking for its possible future now alongside China which is involving it in initiatives that only apparently seem convenient.
The geopolitical reading of the next China-Central Asian countries summit of next May 18-19 will be able to offer us a clearer vision of the future of Russia which is linked to China to drive the USA out of Europe and regain some position in the international scenarios.

The Summit wanted by Beijing has the objective, in 5 plus 1 format, to deliberate on Chinese proposals to involve the five countries to be able to be part of the Belt & Road & initiative.
The reason behind the initiative, according to Preziosa, is to make the participating countries understand that they will be part of a shared future with China (the Xi'an should also respond to the “global community of shared future” -globaltimes.cn).
The summit assumes that relations with the West are in crisis and strengthened cooperation with China could lead to better economic development of Central Asian countries.

According to the organizers of the Summit, this cooperation is very important because the West would prefer instead a geopolitical confrontation of these countries with Russia and China with the addition that radical terrorist groups in the Middle East they are already organizing against China to destabilize its western regions.
Up to now Russia has taken care of the security of the Central Asian area and three of the countries Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan e Tajikistan are already part of CSTO extension (Collective Security Treaty Organization) moreover, it spread the Russian language as a vehicular language for communications between Central Asian countries.

Russia, however, adds the general, has not been able to make large investments in the area which today is characterized by high unemployment rates. Therefore, the expansion of Chinese investment in Central Asia will lead to the creation of new jobs and greater integration of countries.

According to the organizers, the destabilization of the countries of the central area could be the objective of powers far from Asia (the USA?).

China and Russia, therefore, should assume the burden of making the countries of central Asia prosperous and stable, stimulating economic development. China and Russia, as far as they say, will never come into conflict with each other. The summit is based on an anti-Western narrative and it will be interesting to read the final documents to better understand the geopolitical implications of the initiative.

However, at a first reading of the events, it can be assumed that China with potential investments in these regions aims to broaden its strategy related to the Belt & Road initiative. Investments in the region in the future will be Chinese and not Russian with a consequent strengthening of the political ties of these countries with China.
Russia will therefore emerge reduced in its role as a regional power. This confirms the assertion of many analysts that Moscow's slide towards Beijing will severely reduce its role from world power to China's Junior Partner.
