According to reports from the Turkish army itself, new attacks have been launched in northern Syria against the Kurdish People's Protection Unit (YPG) in view of the announced operation against Afrin, the enclave in the region controlled by the Syrian Kurds.
Invoking "legitimate self-defense", the Ankara military hit camps and shelters used by YPG, in response to the fire fired from the Afrin area.
There is expectation for the start of the offensive announced by the Turkish Defense Minister Nurettin Canikli, after the Russian contingent present in the enclave began to withdraw on Friday, giving a substantial green light from Moscow to the military operations with which Ankara aims to remove control of the region from the Syrian Kurds of the Pyd-Ypg.
