(by Josy Monaco) If we observe our face in a mirror, we focus on our features: the nose, the lips, the eyes, the eyebrows, the oval. This is what we see on the surface and generally associate with vanity, but deep down there is much more. The one reflected in the mirror is not just a face, but it is the means of communication of our emotions, which, usually, are the others to see first.
Let's think about it. Without a mirror or anything else capable of reflecting our image, how would we recognize facial expressions? We mirror ourselves every day in the morning or in the evening, when we walk in a street full of shop windows in which we see our reflection, in the phone when we make a video call, but how many times do we try to look at who we are inside us?

Words, read, written and pronounced with the right intensity, can act as a mirror for all that we are inside or that we feel we are.
Flashes of the spirit makes this characteristic of words concrete, with poems representing the

In reading Flashes of the spirit, one gets the impression of listening to a monologue of someone who, through his art, tells the emotions that cross his soul to convey an important message to those who are in search of themselves: you are reborn only by learning about who we were yesterday and to recognize who we are today.

Pasquale Maria Amantea was born in Cosenza in 1982. Graduated in Law, he practices law mainly in the criminal sector. He lives poetry as a form of expression, too
therapeutic for himself and for the reader, in order to stimulate reflection and empathy towards the things of the
