The Armed Forces engaged in the return of the compatriot from China

This morning at 07.00 at the Pratica di Mare military airport, the Air Force KC-767A aircraft, coming from China, landed and brought back to Italy the last of our compatriots who asked to return to Italy.

Unlike the other two flights, with which Italian citizens were transported from Wuhan and Brize Norton (UK), the KC was set up to ensure bio-containment transport in order to ensure the return of the citizen in maximum safety .

On board the aircraft, the Italian citizen was monitored by an interforce health team who then entrusted him, once landed in Pratica di Mare, to the specialized staff of the Spallanzani Hospital where he is currently hospitalized.

This flight, like the previous two that took place on 02 and 09 February, was carried out in coordination with civil protection and other departments through the IOC to ensure the return of Italian citizens stranded in Wuhan, the Chinese city most affected from the health emergency linked to the spread of the new coronavirus. Medical personnel, nurses and adequate medical equipment were employed on board military aircraft to deal with possible cases of infection and to ensure safe transport.
