Lecce, Valditara: Puglia strategic region

Over 1 billion in PNRR funds released for educational institutions and local authorities in the area

"Puglia is a strategic region and education will play a leading role in promoting its development; this is why I chose to start from here to present the PNRR projects and the initiatives that will build the school of the future”, so Giuseppe Valditara, Minister of Education and Merit, during his institutional visit to Lecce on the occasion of Scuola Futura.

"Today I was able to experience first-hand the excellence in the field of education: cutting-edge laboratories, innovative teaching and a wise use of new digital technologies. Models that we must help to emerge and establish themselves in the area”, said Valditara, who recalled how, in the PNRR context, between new assignments and released resources, the Ministry has made over 1 billion in funds available for Apulian educational institutions and local authorities. Of these, 589 million will be allocated to school building interventions and 422 million for interventions on schools and ITS. Furthermore, of the 320 million euros for the South of the Southern Agenda and the Caivano decree, approximately 40 million go to primary schools and 24 to secondary schools in Puglia.

"Thanks to these funds, schools will take a big step forward in terms of services, technological equipment and training. If we add a quality school to the many resources that the area offers, I am convinced that the region will become an engine for Italy's growth", concluded Valditara.
