Unions of Leonardo di Grottaglie ask Di Maio for clarification: "Why do you only fund Leonardo di Pomigliano d'Arco?"

The workers' unions of the Leonardo di Grottaglie plant in the province of Taranto wrote to the minister of economic development Luigi Di Maio to receive some answers, after the visit and especially after the resources allocated to the Leonardo di Pomigliano D'Arco plant, in province of Naples. Minister Di Mario immediately interested his MPs pentastellati, interested in the affair, the deputies of the 5 Movement Stars Gianpaolo Cassese, Alessandra Ermellino and Giovanni Vianello that on the matter have made a joint statement: "Since Minister Di Maio announced the unblocking of a billion euros in favor of companies in the aerospace sector, controversy has arisen, which some press agencies are fueling, in relation to the alleged advantage granted to companies in Campania in comparisons with other companies in the sector located in other regions, such as Puglia. The resources allocated according to 808 1985 Act in fact, are intended for all companies in the sector operating at national level, with particular attention to SMEs, very present, for example, in Puglia. We will shortly organize a meeting with the trade unions of the Leonardo factory in Grottaglie hoping that the meeting will confront each other with a spirit of openness and sharing, net of any possible strategy whatsoever ". Meanwhile, writes the newspaper of Taranto, the collaboration agreement between the Puglia Region, the Puglia Airports and the Aerospace Technology District has been approved by the regional council, for the promotion of new investment opportunities and the enhancement of the Aerospace supply chain in Puglia.

So the Development Councilor of the Puglia region Borraccino on the matter: "as part of the intervention strategy for the programming cycle of EU funds 2014-2020, it pays particular attention to policies to support the strengthening of the competitiveness of the Apulian economic and entrepreneurial fabric. In this context, the aerospace supply chain in Puglia fits perfectly, which we intend to strengthen by strengthening the Apulian airport infrastructures, developing promotional activities to encourage and attract investments and building a territorial offer portfolio in the aerospace sector. Hence the Agreement approved in the Council, preparatory to the establishment of the international aerospace fair to be held in Grottaglie, aimed at increasing competitiveness, increasing production facilities and raising employment levels in our region.".
