Leonardo, first Danish order for the AW169 helicopter

Leonardo today announced the signing of a contract with the Danish operator Uni-Fly A / S for two light intermediate AgustaWestland AW169 helicopters. Deliveries are scheduled in the first quarter of the 2018. Helicopters will carry out tasks to support DONG Energy's operations for the Hornsea Project One North Sea Project, at a distance of 120 km from Humberside, UK.

This is the first Danish order for the new AW169 model, which also enters its market for helicopter support operations to the UK wind power industry after the success already achieved with other European customers and engaged in the North Sea. These AW169 will be equipped with a special custom configuration including dedicated offshore interiors and recovery winch for support for wind turbine maintenance personnel. Uni-Fly A / S and DONG Energy will make a significant step forward in terms of operational capabilities thanks to the high performance, the next-generation technology and the security standards of W169, which contribute to making it the most advanced helicopter available today on the market in its weight class. This model has already gained many successes in Europe for other applications such as hoarding, corporate transport, port support and public security tasks.
