Libia, president of the Noc, calls for the utmost collaboration in Palermo to increase oil production

The National Oil Corporation (NOC), based in Tripoli, announced in a statement on Friday that its president, Mustafa Sanalla, has engaged with Libyan political figures ahead of the Palermo conference.

According to NOC, Sanalla spoke with the special representative and head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (UNSMIL), Ghassan Salamé; President of the Presidential Council, Fayez al-Sarraj; president of the Libyan Chamber of Representatives, Aguila Saleh; and president of the state superior council, Khaled al-Mishri.

Sanalla encouraged "their support for economic transparency as a main ingredient for future stability and a lasting political solution." He also said that "NOC is ready to work with all authorities across the country after the conference, to lead a new culture of transparency and fairness for the benefit of the entire Libyan people ".

Sanalla "also stressed the need to protect future corporate investments to allow a further increase in production and domestic oil revenues. He also called on politicians, security forces and the international community to commit themselves to doing more to combat the national issue of smuggling of fuels, including through subsidy reform.

All appear then aligned in producing results at the summit of Palermo.

"First of all, we greatly appreciate the Italian effort to contribute to improving the political process. We are also anxious to participate in a fruitful meeting (in Palermo, ed) with all the Libyan counterparts and representatives of the international community that leads to positive results ": ANSA spokesman Mohamed El-Sallak, Libyan Prime Minister Fayez Sarraj.
