Libya: Guinea president on slave migrants, EU responsibility

Macron at 360 ° makes international politics also on behalf of the European Union. Alpha Condè has also received in Paris the Head of the Republic of Guinea, also as President of the African Union.

Alpha Condè has pointed the finger at the European Union, on the issue of migrants detained in Libya, accusing it of being responsible for trafficking in human beings.

"We think that our EU friends have no good reason to ask Libya to detain migrants. We all know that there is no government in Libya and there are no adequate means. Europe can not choose a developing country to handle this situation, "said Condè.

After expressing his disdain for the "abusive trade of migrants in Libya and the totally inhuman conditions in which they are guarded", Condè assured that the African Union is in contact with the leaders of all the countries of the continent to "Find a solution to the crisis and bring back our fellow citizens who can no longer stay there".

The president of the highest continental institution has specified that "African leaders are taking their responsibilities.

We have called our ambassadors and contacted the various powers in Libya, which, let's say the truth, do not control a great deal in the country.

President Macron announced a forthcoming UN Security Council meeting on the sale of African migrants as slaves to Libya, which constitutes a "crime against humanity".

Trafficking in human beings is one of the most profitable, partly financing terrorist groups. A turnover of about 30 billion euros a year, involving more than 2,5 million people, 80% of which are women and children: these are the figures relaunched in Paris by the French head of state. Condè and Macron also had talks on bilateral relations between Guinea and France, on the open crises in Africa, including the Togolese one, and on the African Union-European Union summit to be held in Abidjan, capital of the Ivory Coast, on 29 and on November 30th.
