The Islamic State shows the execution of one of the hostages captured in the Sweida area

According to local media reports, the Islamic State in Syria has executed one of the many hostages captured in the Syrian city of the Sweida government during the attack last week.

Dozens of people were killed by the 25 last July in several assaults coordinated by militants of the Islamic State who invaded villages and staged more suicide attacks in the city of Sweida, killing more than 200 people, many of them civilians.

The news online Suwayda24 and Sweida News Network have told that the images spread by the Islamic State show the execution of Muhannad Dhouqan Abu Ammar, 19 years, by the hands of militants of the group.

According to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, which also reported the killing of Abu Ammar, more than 30 people were taken during the July 25 attack in the Sweida area, in southwestern Syria, mainly inhabited by people of the Druze sect. Also according to the Syrian Observatory, there have been contacts between the Druze authorities and the Islamic state to negotiate the release of the hostages.
