The Control Room was established today at Masaf to support and defend the Italian agri-food chain. The table will be made up of Icqrf, the Carabinieri Commands for Agri-Food Protection and Forestry and Parks Protection, the Guardia di Finanza, the Fishing Department, Agea and the Customs Agency.
“Ensuring more effective controls to guarantee the citizens and producers who keep the name of Made in Italy high: this is the strategy we want to implement to enhance our excellence. We need to increase not the number of controls but their effectiveness, expanding the specific skills of the individual sectors involved in these activities”, said the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry, Francesco Lollobrigida, speaking in the control room.
"Integrating information services to create synergy is part of the overall vision that we have developed to better protect the production chains exposed to Italian sounding and unfair competition", concluded Minister Lollobrigida.
The meeting was attended, among others, by the director general of the Monopolies Agency, Roberto Alesse, the Commander of the Port Authorities, Admiral Nicola Carlone, the Chief of Staff of the Guardia di Finanza Command, General Francesco Greco, the Commander of the CUFAA, General Antonio Marzo, the Director General of AGEA, Fabio Vitale, the Head of the ICQRF Department, Felice Assenza, and the Chief of Cabinet of MASAF, the lawyer Giacomo Ajello.
