Lorenzo Fontana met Maria Vittoria to talk about his dream of becoming a journalist

Nicastri, president of the Aidr Foundation: I thank the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Hon. Lorenzo Fontana, for expressing his desire to involve Maria Vittoria in the Christmas Concert and give him the opportunity to fulfill his dream of becoming a journalist.

In the heart of the Christmas atmosphere, an extraordinary event was held yesterday at the Chamber of Deputies, where the President of the Chamber, Hon. Lorenzo Fontana, made the dream of Maria Vittoria, a 9-year-old girl suffering from SMA and with l aspiration to become a journalist. This touching moment occurred during the Christmas Concert, in the presence of institutional and religious authorities, together with hundreds of students.

The context of this significant event is part of the recognition of the National Digital News Award, recently held in Rome in the multimedia room of the Parliament and the European Commission. Maria Vittoria, who received the special digital news prize in the presence of well-known faces from journalism and communication, expressed the desire to interview prominent figures, a dream that came true thanks to the meeting with the President of the Chamber of Deputies, Hon. Lorenzo Fountain.

President Fontana, unable to participate in the 2023 edition of the digital news award due to institutional commitments, expressed his desire to involve Maria Vittoria in the Christmas Concert. “These initiatives embody the spirit and values ​​of our Foundation”, declared Mauro Nicastri, president of Aidr, underlining the importance of supporting the dreams of young people like Maria Vittoria”.

The Christmas Concert, in addition to being a celebration of joy and music with the "Mariele Ventre" Piccolo Choir of the Antoniano and the White Voices Choir of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, represented a moment of meeting and inspiration. Before the concert, President Fontana personally met Maria Vittoria and her parents, together with a delegation from the Agostino Gemelli Hospital represented by Dr. Eugenio Mercuri and the Aidr Foundation represented by president Mauro Nicastri.

On this occasion, President Fontana was given a plaque symbolizing the national tour "Youth, Digitalisation, Europee2024", an initiative of the Aidr Foundation in collaboration with Parliament and the European Commission, aimed at promoting participation and knowledge of EU through digital technologies in view of the next European elections.
