Masaf, OK from State-Regions Conference to decree on 500 million for mills and agricultural innovation

On the proposal of the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Forestry Francesco Lollobrigida, in its last session the Permanent Conference for relations between the State, the Regions and the autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano ratified the agreement on the draft decree concerning the allocation in favor of the Regions and autonomous Provinces of 500 million euros provided for by the Pnrr and destined for innovation in the agricultural and food mechanization sector; the same decree also defines the procedures for issuing the regional tenders relating to 100 million euros intended for the sub-measure "modernization of oil mills". The provision is now being signed by Minister Lollobrigida.

The intervention is divided into two sub-measures: the first, for the modernization of the oil mills, with a budget of 100 million euro; the second, aimed at the modernization of agricultural machinery that allows the introduction of precision farming techniques, with a budget of 400 million euros.

“This is another concrete action – says Minister Lollobrigida – to support our agricultural production. Specifically, oil production is a flagship of our nation, which deserves to be defended and supported at all levels. Innovation in the olive oil sector is essential for a further improvement in product quality and for the reduction of the environmental impact both in terms of consumption and in terms of emissions and use of the relative by-products. I repeat, agricultural modernization is a priority that must certainly be achieved with heavy investments, but which must take reality into account, without the ideological conditioning that influenced the drafting of some measures originally envisaged in the Pnrr. Our commitment continues to further enhance and update the Plan and give even more tools to the sector”, concludes the minister.
