In the early hours of dawn, in the provinces of Milan, Monza and Brianza and Varese, the military of the Provincial Command of Milan collaborated by those territorially competent have executed a arrest of a suspect of crime - issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Monza - against 17 persons held in various capacities as being responsible for concurrent theft, attempted murder, receiving and illegal possession of weapons and ammunition.
The investigations were coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Monza and developed by the Carabinieri della Tenenza of Paderno Dugnano (MI) and the Operative and Radiomobile Units of the Companies of Sesto San Giovanni (MI) and Abbiategrasso (MI) with traditional methods and the help of telephone and environmental interceptions.
The suspects are all men of Albanian origin, convicted and in Italy without a fixed abode, and to them the military arrived because they were used to meeting in the parking lots of the "Brianza" Shopping Center in Paderno Dugnano (MI) where they arrived on board automobiles in the name of a dummy, some of which have already been reported as vehicles used for home burglaries; thanks to the observation services made in this place by soldiers in civilian clothes and to subsequent roadside checks carried out by patrols with school colors, previously alerted, it was possible to reach the exact identification of all the criminals, who , although operating in different areas, in case of need they resorted to mutual aid going to integrate one group rather than the other.
The Carabinieri have thus discovered and dismantled three distinct groups of criminals who, in just four months, from April, have made themselves the perpetrators of well-burgled 57 consumed or attempted at night, sometimes even with the presence of dwellers, in the provinces of Milan (23), Monza and Brianza (1), Brescia (1), Como (8), Cremona (4), Lecco (3) and Varese (17), among which they moved aboard large-displacement cars headed to nominee or with cloned plates.
One of the groups, following an apartment burglary consumed in Castellanza (VA) on the night of 13 in May 2019, in order to gain the escape tried to invest two carabinieri who had intervened to block them. In the circumstance, only thanks to their promptness of reflexes, the military avoided the investment by throwing themselves to the ground, after having hit the engine of the car that aimed them with gunshots, reporting minor injuries.
Overall, the activities also allowed the discovery and seizure of two pistols, an 357 magnum caliber revolver and a semi-automatic 9 × 21 caliber with 11 ammunition of various caliber, both of which came from stealth, two cars marked as nominees, numerous tools for burglary, portable radios, 2.000 euro in cash and other stolen goods.
The detainees, who were brought to justice and associated with the Monza prison, were about to leave the country to return to Albania.
