The activities aimed at preventing the phenomenon of waste fires continue unceasingly through the search and seizure of warehouses used for the illegal storage of waste.
Today, during a check carried out by the NOE CC of Milan together with the staff of the Local Police of the PG Section of the Court of Milan as part of some investigations ordered by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Milan - Office of the Deputy Prosecutor Dr. Francesco VN De Tommasi, an industrial site operating in the field of waste treatment was seized, inside which about 2450 tons of special waste were deposited (compared to the 117 tons authorized), consisting largely of packaging waste, building rubble and plastic materials, which could potentially have been set on fire as the quantity was significantly in excess of the quantities allowed by the authorizations.
For this reason, considering the quantity and type of waste found, it is possible to assume an illegal activity of management, collection and disposal of special waste. Therefore, the site managers were reported in a state of freedom and reported to the Milan Public Prosecutor for illegal waste management.
The industrial site, although in possession of the authorizations for the storage of waste, was subjected to seizure together with all that was contained therein, including two heavy trucks, while on the waste found are already underway the characterization activities aimed at verifying the exact consistency and possible danger.
